Sunrise Creamsicle Protein Shake

It’s finally the WEEKEND!

Unfortunately for me, I still have to get up early on Saturday morning and force myself to go to work. Working in the hospitality industry definitely has its perks, but working on the weekends just isn’t one of them.

Sometimes it’s hard to drag myself out of bed and waking up extra early to make a healthy breakfast just isn’t on my priority list. Most of the time I grab a breakfast bar or just drink coffee instead (I know, completely unhealthy but I’m working on it)! After much trial and error, I have found the perfect solution to my breakfast woes – PROTEIN SHAKES!

I have tried allll different recipes and nothing seemed like that early morning pick me up Β that I really need to start my day. And then one day I found it: the perfect protein shake recipe! I named it the Sunrise Creamsicle Protein Shake:

First, find the right protein powder for you. I recently discovered PEScience Select Protein and it tastes great. It comes in all different flavors but I chose the Gourmet Vanilla for this shake. (Side note: I like to buy the smaller jars of different flavors; I like the variety).

To start, add your fruit to the blender. I used bananas, strawberries and peaches. I usually cut up my fruit and freeze it so it doesn’t go bad as quickly. Then add a scoop of your protein powder.

Next, add 1/2 cup of orange juice and 1/2 cup of milk and BLEND!!! This is the best step because that means you’re almost ready to enjoy this deliciousness! Finally, it’s done! Pour it in your favorite glass and get ready to start your day!

Sunrise Creamsicle Protein Shake

  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 cup strawberries
  • 1/2 cup peaches
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1/2 cup milk

*If you like it on the sweeter side, I recommend adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract.

**Also, if you do not use frozen fruit, throw some ice in there! πŸ™‚
